Welcome to Golden Elm Woodcraft. By using this website or purchasing my products and classes, you agree to the following terms. As a sole trader, I aim to keep these terms clear and fair for both of us.
1. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including woodenware designs, tool patterns, photographs, and workshop course materials, is my own work and is protected by copyright.

  • You are welcome to share my work on social media, provided you credit Golden Elm Woodcraft.

  • You may not reproduce, sell, or use my designs or educational materials for commercial purposes without my express written permission.

2. Product Sales & Accuracy
  • Handmade Nature: As noted in my Return Policy, wood and steel are natural materials. Variations in grain, character marks, and small artisanal differences are part of the product.

  • Pricing: All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD). I reserve the right to change prices or discontinue products at any time.

  • Availability: If an item is listed as in stock but becomes unavailable due to a technical error, I will notify you immediately and offer a full refund or a lead time for a new build.

3. Safety & Liability (Physical Products)

I take great care in the construction of my woodenware and tools. However, once a product is in your care:

  • Correct Use: Tools (such as knives or chisels) are sharp and must be used with appropriate safety gear and technique.

  • Maintenance: You are responsible for maintaining your items as per my Care Guide. I am not liable for damage caused by neglect, such as dishwasher use or leaving steel in wet conditions.

  • Limitation of Liability: To the extent permitted by law, my liability is limited to the replacement or repair of the product or a refund of the purchase price.

4. Class Safety Waiver

By booking a class with Golden Elm Woodcraft, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Inherent Risk: Woodworking, blacksmithing, and green woodworking involve the use of sharp tools, heat, and ocassional heavy machinery. You understand that there are inherent risks involved in these activities.

  • Instruction: You agree to follow all safety instructions and demonstrations provided during the class. I reserve the right to ask any participant to leave (without a refund) if they are acting in a way that endangers themselves or others.

  • Safety Gear: You agree to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed (e.g., eye protection, sturdy footwear).

  • Health & Fitness: You confirm that you are physically capable of participating in the workshop activities.

  • Liability Release: By attending, you release me (the sole trader) from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained during the class, except where caused by my gross negligence.

5. Age Requirements
  • Finished Items: You must be 18 years or older to purchase bladed tools.

  • Classes: Please refer to each individual class page to check specific age requirements, as these can vary.

6. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be handled within the jurisdiction of Victorian courts.
