Forge a Pair of Bushcraft Knives

An intensive, two-day course in which you will forge a pair of bush-crafting knives; a general purpose, full-tang camping knife and a refined, hidden-tang whittling knife. By the end of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge to make your own wilderness and camping tools.

Class description

Wanting to level up your bushcrafting and wilderness skills? In this course, you will forge a pair of knives suitable for a wide range of bushcraft purposes. Using a simplified setup, we will start from raw materials to forge out, grind, heat treat and handle two knives.

The larger, full-tang knife will suit most bushcraft operations from splitting kindling to preparing food while the smaller hidden-tang knife will be perfectly dialled in for carving spoons and general whittling.

This course will be physically demanding (be prepared to swing a hammer), but will leave you with all the metal working skills that you need to produce your own bushcraft tools at home. A perfect course for small groups of friends who enjoy hiking, camping and whittling together.
